'''Onyx Cafe exhibitor and employee''' In 1986 I discovered the Onyx Cafe/Art Gallery at time when I graduated from the university. I drove from Cerritos to Silver Lake to stay with my sister Rosana Hemerik on the weekends. My sister turned me on the Onyx Cafe. Every August we would celebrate all my birthday's thereafter. In 1987 one night while hanging out upstairs in the gallery, I met the gallery attendant, he told me, "hey did you want to work my shift next week," I answered,"how could I, your boss has even interviewed for the job position," he answered,"it doesn't matter, just covered for me," so i did and that's I started working at the Onyx out of default. It led to working the espresso machine as a Barista with no prior cafe experience. John Leech & Fumiko Robinson owns of the Onyx Cafe taught me, "how to steam the milk until I frothed without look, but listen," then "I went for it and it actually worked and now a true believer on how to be training throught pure trail and error."
